Somewhere I would like to visit when I leave school.

Greece is strategically located at the crossroads of Europe, Asia and Africa. It shares land borders with Albania to the northwest, the Republic of Macedonia and Bulgaria to the north and Turkey to the northeast. The Aegean Sea lies to the east of the mainland, the Ionian Sea to the west, and the Mediterranean Sea to the south. Greece has the longest coastline on the Mediterranean Basin and the 11th longest coastline in the world. However, I don't want to visit Greece for Geography, I would love to go for

1. They've got a very rich history and culture

I believe that history and culture always go hand in hand. A culture roots down from the history of a particular place and with Greece’s history dating as far back as 3000 years ago, I think anyone will agree with me that they've got a very rich one.

2. They've got fantastic weather

The weather in  Greece, like most places, changes with the seasons. It also depended on whether you were in Northern Greece near Thermopylae, or in Southern Greece near Sparta. In the spring, it would be pretty rainy, especially in Northern Greece, and the plants would get green and leafy. The temperature would generally be from  10-20 degrees Celsius. Then in the summer, it would be hot and dry. Farmers would harvest the wheat at the beginning of the summer, in June. It hardly rains at all in Greece in the summer, especially in Southern Greece. In Northern Greece sometimes there are  thunderstorms in the summer. In Northern Greece it would generally be about 30 degrees Celsius but in Southern Greece it could get up over 40 degrees Celsius pretty often.

3. Its a colourful country

Does the combination of blue and white remind you of Greece? It does for me but after googling hundreds of images of the country, I realized that there are some other colors splashed to this amazing country that will probably make all the painters, artists and photographers go crazy about.

4. It has a very diverse nature

From Lefkada to Igoumenitsa, there are a lot of different sceneries like rolling hills, mountains, rocky walls, lakes and the sea. It has all kinds of things to offer for just about anyone. This applies to the beaches that they have too. There are rocky beaches, sandy beaches, pebbled beaches, beaches hidden inside a cave or beaches which can only be accessed by the 300 steep steps. It’s amazing!

5. It’s on my bucket list

Admit it, who doesn't want to go to Greece? At some point, everyone might have probably dreamed of seeing the Acropolis or the whites and blues of Santorini and Mykonos. In my opinion Greece is one of the most beautiful and cultural places in the world.
